Federally Qualified Health Center

Sunrise County Economic Council initiates and facilitates the creation of jobs and prosperity in Washington County, Maine, by working with a consortium of community-minded businesses, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities and citizens.

Scholarships of up to $500 for Washington County residents, of low-to-moderate income, who will be attending a training and/or certification program that will increase their opportunities for IMMEDIATE employment or job advancement.

Parenting in Treatment & Recovery: This focuses on the impact of substance use, mental illness, and trauma on parenting. These sessions help to restore what has been lost in the parent and child relationship, while strengthening their connection to move forward with the healing process.

Virtual peer led recovery meetings open to all transgender people in recovery from substance use. 4th Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm. This group is secular, not program specific, with the goal of providing support and compassion for all who need it at any stage of recovery.

24/7 Hotline to serve the Native American population with any critical needs including mental health and/or substance use disorder.

Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) serves four federally recognized tribes located in five communities: the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Aroostook Band of Micmacs, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation. Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share. Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the state of Maine.
